今日は妹夫妻の市役所の手続きを済ませた後（なんと2時間もかかった。

さすがはお○○仕事）、昼前から高速で一路熊本へ向かう。

 
15時過ぎに熊本市内のホテルにチェックインし、せっかくなので熊本城＆

市内中心部繁華街散歩。いやー熊本城は桜がほぼ満開近く、かなりいい感じ♪

写真も撮ってまたアップすると思うので見てやってくだせえ！

■2004/03/29 (月)

今日は鹿児島市内の親戚周りと墓参りに。

こうやってネットの輪が広がっていくのも楽しい♪

 
I knew a girl once.  She is probably the most amazing person I will ever meet.  She is courageuos, strong, talented and intelligent.  Everything she tries she has some level of success. This girl cared for me very deeply, but I took her feelings forgranted.  I said things to her I shouldn’t have and should have said things I didn’t.  I broke promises to her and didn’t treat her the way that she deserved. I didn’t do these things intentionally but I did them none the less.  I assumed that she would always forgive me.  I was wrong in this assumption and as a result I lost her.  This is my greatest regret.
 
 
人生、最大の後悔

　以前、知り合いに一人の女性がいました。彼女は、恐らく、私の会った女性の中で、もっとも驚くべき人だったと思います。彼女は、勇気があり、強く、そして、才能豊かで知的な人でした。彼女は、試みるすべてのことに対して、一定の成功をおさめるのでした。

　この女性は、本当に深く私に心をかけてくれました。しかし、私は彼女の気持ちに慣れっこになっていました。言ってはならないことを言い、言うべきことを言わずにいました。私は約束を破り、そして、彼女の値打ちにふさわしい扱いをすることはありませんでした。私は、わざと、こんなことをした訳ではありません。でも、結局、同じことです。私は、彼女が許してくれることを当然のことと考えていました。私の推測は間違っていました。その結果、私は彼女を失う羽目になったのです。人生最大の後悔です。

じんせい、さいだい の こうかい

　いぜん、しりあい に ひとり の じょせい が いました。かのじょ は、おそらく、わたし の あった じょせい の なか で、もっとも おどろくべき ひと だった と おもいます。かのじょ は、ゆうきが あり、つよく、そして、さいのう ゆたか で ちてきな ひと でした。かのじょ は、こころみる すべてのこと に たいして、いってい の せいこう を おさめるのでした。

　この じょせい は、ほんとうに ふかく わたし に こころ を かけてくれました。しかし、わたし は かのじょの きもち に なれっこ に なっていました。いってはならないこと を  いい、いうべきこと を いわずにいました。わたし は やくそく を やぶり、そして、かのじょ の ねうち に ふさわしい あつかい を することは ありませんでした。わたし は、わざと、こんなこと を した わけ ではありません。でも、けっきょく、おなじことです。わたし は、かのじょ が ゆるしてくれること を とうぜん の こと と かんがえていました。わたし の すいそく は まちがっていました。その けっか、わたし は かのじょ を うしなう はめ に なったのです。じんせい さいだい の こうかいです。

今日は朝から車に乗って一路鹿児島へ！

6時間かけて鹿児島へ。もうへとへと。。

 
My parents went to Califorina for my cousin’s wedding. I was not able to go due to work. I woke up late for work, so I was running around like a mad women trying to get ready and be on time for work. As soon as I shut the door to my house, I realized I had locked my house key in my house. Of course my parents were gone so they could not help me. So I had to go to work, knowing that I would have to figure a way to get back in my house. We only have one door to our house and there are no windows that are not at least 7 feet off the ground. I had to go to our neighbor get a ladder, cut the screen, and climb through a window without falling and killing myself. It was the funniest thing. If anyone could have seen this they would have been laughing. Here was this little blonde girl in nice clothes trying to break into her own house who was not tall enough to reach the window. I will never forget about locking my keys in my house again. At least not when mom and dad are out of town.
 

 
I work at a fine dining resturant, which means I have to dress up! I just bought a new pair of pants which I loved. I could not wait to get them altered because I wanted to wear them. They were a little long. As I was seating the guests at their table, the heel of my shoe got caught on the bottom part of my pants, which made me trip and fall. It was really funny. Everyone was afraid that I got hurt. I was fine except for my pride.

仕事場での滑稽な出来事

　私はお洒落なレストランで働いています。ということは、洒落た服装をしなければならない、ということです！　私は、最近、お気に入りの新しいパンツを買ったばかりでした。私は、すぐに着たかったので寸法直しを待つことができませんでした。それで、パンツの裾は少し長めでした。

　さて、ある日のこと。私はレストランで、お客様をテーブルに案内していました。その時、私の靴のかかとがパンツの裾にひっかかったのです。そして、私はつまずいて転んでしまいました。それは実に滑稽でした。みんなは、私が怪我をしたのではないかと心配しました。私は大丈夫でした。ただ、私のプライドが傷ついた以外は・・・
 

■2004/03/27 (土)

今日は待望のりんくうのアウトレッツへ。

いろいろな店が異国のショッピングモールのような所にたくさん入っている。

屋外ということもあるがかなり広い。私が最近よく購入している「G○P」や

「ayu」御用達の「DIEZE○」のアウトレットまである。

しかしここでもなかなか合うものがなく撃沈。。

こうなれば最近オープンした鳥栖の「プレミアムアウトレッツ」へいかねば。。

夕方に連れ合いと別れてからは、実家へもどり、妹と最近結婚した夫と初対面。

なかなか英語で話すのは難しい。。しかし誠実でさわやかguyな彼に一安心。

あさってからは彼を連れて鹿児島まで親戚周りに挨拶にgo!の予定。

往復約２０００キロの車旅である。

■2004/03/26 (金)

大阪へ連れ合いといっしょに関西アウトレッツツアーへいった。

初日は神戸のマリンピアと、大阪は鶴見の花博のブロッサムへ。

２ケ所のアウトレッツに回ったがすべてがキングサイズのdebleには

なかなか合うものがない！

今日はなかったので明日のりんくうプレミアムアウトレッツにかける！！

夜に奈良のスーパー銭湯に入り、再び大阪に下って富田林の道の駅で就寝。。

 
How are you?

Lately, it is really cold here, and it feels like winter has returned. In addition, the weather is a mix of rain and light snow-it is not clearly defined. It got warm once already, so my body can’t keep up. I was just wondering if the cherry blossoms would bloom soon when, suddenly, it became freezing. This terrible weather will continue for a while, so I was preparing dinner while listening to Hawaiian music. It seems like it is heaven over there.

I just took my pictures with a compact camera so they aren’t very clear, but I will send them sometime, okay?

寒い寒い日本から

　御元気ですか。　こちらは最近、とっても寒くて冬に戻ったみたいです。　おまけに、天気も雨や小雪が混ざったり～～はっきりしません。　一度は温かくなったものですから、体もなかなか付いて行きません。　桜の花もさあ咲けるかな～と思ったとたんにフリーズです。　さっき、あまりひどい天気が続くのでハワイアンを聴きながら夕食の用意をしました。　そちらは天国の様ですね。

私の写真はコンパクトカメラでしか撮っていないので、はっきり撮れていませんが、いつかお送りしますね。　 本当に寒い日本（寒いのは、大の苦手）から～～～でした。
 
 

 
February journal

On Valentine’s Day weekend, I got to go on a free trip to Maui!  It wasn’t romantic or anything; I was helping out my high school speech coach by judging for the tournament being held there.  I saw a whole bunch of great performances, so it was really fun.  A couple of the high school guys thought it was neat that I’d brought a video game magazine to read.  Alli, my friend who was also on the trip, said she wouldn’t want to be told that, but I thought it was funny!

　バレンタインデーの週末、無料のマウイ島旅行に出かけました！　ロマンチックな旅行じゃありません。マウイ島で開催されたスピーチトーナメントで、私の高校のスピーチ審査員としてお手伝いしたのです。沢山、凄い演技を見ることができたので、本当に楽しみました。幾人かの男子生徒は、私が、ビデオゲームの雑誌を持って来たことを格好いいと思ったようです。しかし、その時、やはり、マウイに来ていた友人が、「アリー、それはだめです！」と言いました。しかし、面白いと思いました！

この写真はマウイ島にある　”the Seven Sacred Pools”　の近くです。ハイキングの小道に通じる道路のすぐ近くだったと思います。

Mike and I took this picture on the hiking trail near the Seven Sacred Pools on Maui — the trail goes through a really big and pretty bamboo forest.  We turned back at this point, because enormous mosquitoes were attacking us.

この写真は、マウイ島、7つの聖池（オヘオの池）の近くの遊歩道で、マイクと共に写しました。この小道は、本当に大きくてきれいな竹薮（たけやぶ）の中を通っていました。巨大な蚊が私達を襲ったので、この地点で引き返しました。

I tried to spell out my name (Alli) in this picture.  Mike and I were near the Seven Sacred Pools on Maui, and he took four pictures of me — one for each letter.  Later on, I pasted those pictures together to make this one.

私が、自分の名前 (Alli) を綴（つづ）っている写真です。マイクと私は、マウイ島の7つの聖池（オヘオの池）の近くで４枚の写真を撮（と）りました。一枚の写真に、一文字ずつ撮って、後で、つなぎあわせました。
