As my job approaches, my days are now becoming busy! (Strange!).
As a bank employee, I had to fill out many many forms yesterday.
The bank is highly regulated by the SEC (Securities & Exchange Commission) and thus, the records must be clear.
I received an email yesterday from human resources that had many file attachments.
In particular, I had to fill out…SEC Disclosure agreement, drug-free form, background check and other forms.
Today, I actually have to go and get tested and submit my name for another background test!
I have to do all of this soon because I have class at 5pm today so I will be busy.

In Arizona there aren’t many things to do. We had originally planned to go to the Hualapai Reservation to go on the skywalk, a glass bridge over the Grand Canyon. After talking to the owner of our RV camp, we discovered that the Hualapai charge $50 a head to get on the reservation, and then an additional $25 to walk on the skybridge. So with nothing else to do we hopped on route 66 and hightailed it to Vegas. We stopped one night at a RV camp in the middle of nowhere. At the camp, the locals had made a giant firepit from a piece of drainage pipe. They had a bonfire burning white, and a bunch of burlap sacks soaking. Later when we returned, the pit was covered and the sacks were gone, so we assumed that they had made an imu! I don’t know what they cooked, but the only animals I saw were cows and sheep, so maybe a sheep.
We arrived in Vegas two days ahead of our schedule. The first night we stayed in a RV camp outside of Circus Circus. The outside temperature was about 105. We had our RV hooked up to electricity and ran the A/C on high, but it was still super hot. When we took the RV back, the RV shop guy told us that the RV’s A/C can only bring the outside temp down by 15 degrees, so it was around 90 inside! The second night, we decided to stay in the hotel. It was so, so much nicer, and only ended up costing $20 more for two rooms than to park in the RV park. In Vegas, I found out that my mom is a gambling addict. The whole trip she used a cane to walk and was generally the slowest person. But as soon as we got in the casino, her eyes lit up like it was Christmas, and she could suddenly move fast! I arrived with $25 to gamble and left Vegas with just under $100 (thank you Celtics for beating the spread!), but my mom did really well. Our last night on the mainland, she treated us all to a prime rib dinner, and I still think she came out ahead. It was the perfect way to end our trip.
Random stuff at the RV camp:

anybody know why route 66 is famous?

After visiting the Grand Canyon, we continued south in Arizona. Arizona was HOT. Not quite as hot as Vegas, but still very, very hot. We went to Prescott National Forest to see the famous bluffs there. Had that been the first place we visited on our trip, I am sure we would have thought it was very nice. But after everything we saw, everybody was not impressed at all. I heard a lot of “what are we looking at? It’s just rocks” from my nieces and nephews. There were also a lot of Navajo (I think. Or some other tribe) vendors selling their goods. My sister was shopping at the vendor closest to the parking lot, while I went to one of the furthest ones about 50 ft down the line. I bought a money clip and bracelet for Ryo, then went to check how much it would have cost at the first vendor. Lucky I walked down to the end, because the first few vendor’s prices were twice as much!
Back on the road, my brother-in-law decided to take a few “historical” routes. One highway took us to the ghost town of Jerome. Jerome is situated on the side of a very steep mountain. We started at the bottom of the mountain face where there were about 5 houses. I was thinking, what kind of town only has 5 houses? But after about 5 minutes of hairpin turns (very hard in an RV, and especially scary when one side of the road is over a cliff. More so when there are no guardrails), we finally got to the actual town. I think that the road could give that road in San Fran a run for it’s money as far as which is the windier and steeper road. The town was very quaint, and might have been a nice place to visit if it were possible to park an RV there. But the roads were too narrow, and the town was very busy and crowded. I was constantly in danger of hitting oncoming cars or pedestrians through the entire town. At the top, there was a sign that said the road narrows! When we finally got past that town, I think my knuckles had lost all their blood and I had made dents in the steering wheel.
