ハワイのハロウィーンは、どんなかんじですか？？

I am now interested in the JET Program. I found out that besides teaching positions, they also have Coordinator of International Relations(COI). This interests me a lot as I would be helping with peaceful exchange programs between all sort of different things, within either the schools or a government office. Plus the benifits are great, they give you a 40k salary, pay for your housing airfare and give you the opportunity to experience Japanese culture for a year. I hope to get it, the deadline application is November 29th and they are only accepting 40 people from Hawaii.

Ganbatte Mimasu Yo!

I’m getting ready to go to the east coast in late November, planning on doing the usual things.  Visiting relatives, friends, checking on all of my stuff still in storage there, including my little Toyota truck.  When my Mother gave up her house in Virginia and moved in with me, all of her stuff, and all of my stuff that was stored in her house, went into a local storage place.  After watching the real estate market double, and then finally tanking in the last couple of years, she thinks it’s prime time to buy a house or condo back in Virginia.  We figure that for not much more than we’re paying for storage, we could get a place which would allow us to stop paying storage fees, and have a home base for subsequent trips back home (Virginia).  When you figure in the tax advantages, it should be just about a wash as compared to the current situation.

It’s also making me have thoughts about moving back east.  An acquaintance of mine is a certified Rolex watchmaker working at a high end jewelry store here in Honolulu.  After less than three years, he’s going back home to Washington.  When I jokingly asked if he didn’t like the Hawaiian weather, he said “I like the weather just fine.  It’s just that the cost of living is so high I don’t feel like I will ever get ahead here.”  He has a point there…

今日は、日ごろパソコンのボランティアとして、
お手伝いしている市内小学校からの
ご招待の音楽会へ行ってきました❤





この時季、地域の皆様を招いてくださるのです。
昨日、1年生2クラスのおうちの方に渡す招待状作りお手伝いをしたので、
一生懸命頑張っている可愛らしい子供たちを見ると私たちまで嬉しいです〜
でも悲しいことに４，５年生の２クラスが、インフルエンザのため参加できませんでした(>_<)
これ以上ひろがなければと心配です。。。
そしてお土産のお花の嬉しいプレゼントいただきました〜





Denverにすむ下の娘からは、もうこんな雪だよりのメールがやってきました〜

School is getting hectic, I can’t wait for Thanksgiving break. Currently, my reading is intense and papers are due. I am swamped and trying to stay ahead of the curve, but it is difficult.

Secondly, someone asked me yesterday, “Nihon ni itsu kearu?” I did not understand, since it was so informal. However, I guess what they were trying to say is when do you return to Japan/ WHich I understand as, “Nihon ni itsu kaerimasu ka?”

「かなり追い詰められとるけど頑張るは」と来た。
「頑張るは」…
「は」から、追い詰められた感が伝わる。
父も頑張っている。

寝たら治る。喉以外はめちゃ元気。
いつもの風邪なら自分の自己免疫力で治してきた。
膿のような痰。咳。気道狭窄感。未だにとれません。

10日も症状が続くとは…。
もういい加減自己免疫とか言ってられへん。。。
薬の力に頼ろう。てか、もっと早く行くべきやったか。
自分の免疫力を過信しすぎました、あほぅ、とろみどり。

受診。「自分の病院で診てもらえよ、あんなでかい病院、いい医者いてるやろ。」とツッコまれました（汗）あぁ、保険証で身元バレバレか。だって午後受診ないし、めっちゃ待つもん、あそこ。

薬ゲット。抗生物質。咳止め薬。痰のキレ良くする薬。気管支拡張テープ（ホクナリンテープ）。このホクナリンテープ。。。まさか自分に貼るなんて。。。いつもは患者さんに貼ってた側やったのに。楽になるかな。。。
